At the 10th year anniversary of the ‘De La Soul’ Nike SB release. This Saturday, May 16, along with the Jordan 7 ‘Hare’, Nike releases a low cut version of the colorway of the Nike SB Dunk featuring a baroque brown and green leather with vinyl holographic uppers in respect to the eclectic hip hop group back in 2005. A little history behind the this group:
In 1989, Long Island trio De La Soul boldly announced their arrival on a burgeoning hip-hop scene with oodles of clever wordplay, a perfect grip of eclectic samples and a unique point of view the likes of which the genre had never seen before. The result was 3 Feet High and Rising, the group’s classic debut album that largely bucked hip hop trends of the day in favor of a sound one could only characterize as more peace medallion than dookie gold chain. Posdnuos, Trugoy the Dove and PA Mase (aka Plugs 1, 2 and 3) eschewed the typical braggadocio-style of rhyming from that era with a more laid-back leftfield approach, simultaneously expanding any perceived limitations in hip-hop as well as the audience make-up of those who listen to it. Transmitting live from Mars, The DA.I.S.Y. Age (short for Da Inner Sound Ya’ll) had officially begun. (source Nike)

This OG colorway is returning this Saturday, May 16. Colorway is almost similar to the OG in 1991. Initial samples came out with faux croc texture in the upper, they tradhed that and decided for the remastered look with the nubuck and smooth leathera. but unlike the OG release which was in a pack with the XVI’s, this time the retro pair is by itself. It comes with a retro card that has the Bugs Bunny silhoutte in the jumpman pose seemingly leaping over a “Hare Jordan” title. Certainly long awaited and favorite of the 7 colorway. This could be a contender in favorite Jordan retros this year. These will drop with all complete family sizing.

[Update 6-11-2015] Friendly reminder. Steph Curry One MVP is releasing Saturday 6-13-2015. For fans of Steph and GSW, and sneakerheads alike, don’t sleep! Cop from the link(s) below:
This is not a surprise to anyone. He is one un-guardable, versatile NBA point guard and deserves this credit for all the hard work he has contributed this season. And of course, the sneakerheads are waiting for what Under Armour has in-store for us in the coming days. Certain enough they were cooking a pair to be released in June this year. This could be perfect timing for the Golden State Warriors when they reach the finals. Stay tuned for more updates from the brand. Here’s a CGI sneak peak of the Curry One ‘MVP’ colorway:

The Jordan Retro 5 ‘Grape’ or may also be dubbed as ‘Hornets’, with the hue of Michael Jordan’s Hornets team, is originally scheduled to release on Saturday May 02, 2015. It is believed to be an old unreleased colorway sample 25 years ago. But keep in mind Nike’s backlog is already two weeks. So we may or may not see it announced by NDC. Copping is back to the classic lining up since (some) retailers like House of Hoops, Champs stores, or your downtown Nike stores as they might have them stocked at this time. But I will update this blog once the links to the product online are announced. Here’s a good look at the pair. Comes in full family sizing.
Nike releases has backlog now. They have just recently announced and taken down this Saturdays release. While other retailers will still proceed as scheduled, do take note that they may ship later (backorders). Here are this Saturdays releases as scheduled earlier:
After the success of the Retro 11s, Nike keeps it down low. Jordan 11 has always been the most awaited. In spring 2015, we will see this silhouette back again but with a low top. Same materials of the High OG on this retro with the black mesh and patent leather. They could tag it as the ‘Playoffs’ in time with the NBA playoffs. Go Warriors!!!
Here’s another look.
